TEAM

Klaus Peter Raunecker

Klaus P. Raunecker, the head of the firm and its namesake, is a physics graduate, a German patent attorney, and a professional representative before the European Patent Office (European Patent Attorney), and the European Office for Harmonisation in the Internal Market (European Trademark and Design Attorney). During his physics degree at the University of Ulm, he primarily specialised in optoelectronics and semiconductor physics, particularly in fibre-optic sensors and their use in spectroscopy. After two years as a Software Development Engineer with Airbus Defence, he moved into intellectual property management at Daimler AG, working initially as an assistant to the department head and subsequently completing his studies in intellectual property law.

From 2005 to 2015, Mr Raunecker was working (as a partner since 2008) in a medium-sized law firm in Heidenheim. His experience from working with national and international clients lies in the technical areas of optics, electronics and mechanical engineering. Furthermore, Mr Raunecker is well-versed in trademark law, design law, employee invention law and licensing law.

Klaus P. Raunecker was for many years a lecturer in patent law at the DHBW (Baden-Württemberg Cooperative State University Heidenheim).

Andrea Spitz

Andrea Spitz is an IP Assistant at Raunecker Patent and has an MA in Geography.

Ms Spitz has previously worked in office and administrative management, and in marketing and events. Since 2017, Ms Spitz has been training successfully to become a patent officer. She applies her knowledge skilfully for Raunecker Patent and is responsible for clerical processing and assistance in the field of industrial property rights.

Wolfgang Hummel

Wolfgang Hummel is a Patent Professional and a graduate of General Mechanical Engineering: His degree in mechanical engineering included thermodynamics and control technology with a focus on aerospace technology.

After two years as a development engineer, he worked as a technical project manager on a variety of mechatronic projects at Carl Zeiss SMT GmbH, before becoming a development manager at Carl Zeiss Jena GmbH. From 2013 to 2017, Mr Hummel worked in the patent department at Carl Zeiss AG with a focus on semiconductor technology.

His experience in patent law issues includes the fields of mechatronics, mechanics (gears), actuators and sensors, control technology, optics, electronics and general mechanical engineering. Furthermore, Mr Hummel is well-versed in German employee invention law and contract law.

Dr Manfred Rösler (Of-Counsel)

Dr Manfred Rösler, a graduate in physics and mineralogy, is a German patent attorney and a professional representative before the European Office for Harmonisation in the Internal Market (European Trademark and Design Attorney). While studying physics at the University of Tübingen, he specialised in applied physics, working on quantitative elemental analysis using electron beam and x-ray fluorescence analysis, and in mineralogy with a focus on materials research for ceramic materials.

His subsequent doctoral thesis work at Daimler-Benz AG involved studying the chemical vapour deposition of diamond layers on semiconductor materials. This was followed by two years' industrial research in the field of high-performance transistor development.

His training in intellectual property law and qualification as a German patent attorney also took place at Daimler-Benz AG. Since 2002 Dr Rösler has headed up the Patent and Trademark department of a medium-sized industrial firm.

His experience in patent law issues includes the technical fields of tool development for metallic and ceramic materials, optics, electronics and general mechanical engineering. Dr Rösler has extensive experience of German and international trademark law, employee invention law and contract law.
